Our story

Two of the founding members, Brad and Brian have been friends for 35 years after meeting at Chaparral Elementary school. That was the start of a decades long friendship centered around playing sports. Thirty five years later, Brian and Brad found themselves back in Calabasas both now with families of their own. Like many others, they started playing pickleball in 2020 and fell in love with the sport. As other pickleball players would know, it’s a sport where making new friends comes easily. And that’s exactly what happened early in 2021 the boys met Daryl Wizelman who was new to the sport but already caught the bug. The three Calabasas residents quickly turned from pickleball players into pickleball fanatics.  

They loved the game so much but were increasingly frustrated with the lack of courts and new competition. So, they set out on a dream to find a place to build the ideal pickleball paradise. As luck would have it, they found the perfect land right in the heart of Calabasas. After years of planning, stressing, daydreaming, investing, and gathering the elusive approvals, their dream finally is a reality.   

Calabasas Pickleball Club officially opened with 16 courts on June 1, 2024.
